What should a roof replacement quote include?
A roof replacement proposal should explain the work it covers, not just name a material and total. Use the same checklist with every contractor before comparing proposals.
Roof work can include the visible covering, removal of existing material, underlayment, flashing, ventilation details, access and cleanup. Ask when the crew expects to begin and finish, how weather can affect the schedule and how the site will be protected while work is underway. Confirm where materials, debris containers and vehicles will be placed. If there are solar equipment, skylights, landscaping or access restrictions, ask whether they are included in the scope or need a separate decision.
Check the contractor independently
